Re: Job hunters here - post your resumeMind, Experience & Talent Available
Folks,
Thanks to HiddenTech for this space to post my resume. It is in the text below this message.
I'm am currently looking at two primary possibilities.
Although not immediately obvious from my general resume, I am a generalist manager, a team and organization builder and leader, technology analyst, and writer on technical and technology-related issues for non-technical audiences. I am also well skilled in public, media, and governmental relations.
Thus, in addition to advertising myself for a full-time position, I would welcome any inquiries regarding fee-for-service writing as described above. I have been published in a several venues, including a precursor to "Wired" magazine. My abilities include production for periodicals, press releases, brochures, book-length projects, and, of course, web publication. Script writing for video and film are also among my experiences. Examples of my writing can be found at the URL listed in the resume.
I look forward to any questions, even if on a "get-to-know" basis.
Looking Forward,
S

Career Objective
Leadership and Management Based Upon on Telecommunications and Emerging Technologies Supporting New Business Development
Core Competencies

Selected Projects & Achievements
20 Years in Cable Telecom and Online services, including participation in the first public demonstration of Internet, Cable Telephony, High Resolution Imaging via Cable (Continental Cablevision/PSI) and the deployment of Internet via Cable as a commercial service.
Promoted growth of Telecom infrastructure and Broadband use in underserved areas. Assisted in the growth of Telephone, ISP, wired, wireless platforms, quadrupling the number of providers, creating jobs and business expansion. Research, analysis, forecasting, and reporting were major components of this work. Success was achieved despite a looming consolidation in the Telecom market.
Developed regional Intranet for public information. Funding totaled 1.3 million dollars and involved over thirty contractors and several State and regional agencies. The delivered product contained over two hundred on-site pages, links to several hundred others. The project made extensive use of emerging Open Source technologies, cross-platform solutions, and the ability for content providers to easily create and add current information.
Developed, negotiated and/or implemented Cable Telecom licenses in Thirty-three communities. The value of these licenses was approximately $200 million dollars/yr.
Created an Intraprenueurial "company within a company" (Continental Cablevision of W.Mass; Department of Public Affairs) with a staff of 25 employees including creatives, journalists and technicians, a budget of 2.3 million dollars and gross annual income of over $100, 000.
Developed Distance Education programs for the region's Technical Community College consisting of two components; a for-credit program, and an Online press dedicated to Telecom. In this latter project, we worked with international textbook publisher Marcel Decker using emerging technologies, facilitating an object-oriented approach to individualized instruction.
Present for the first public demonstration of digital, non-linear video editing (Avid). I also managed the migration of several video and audio studios to fully digital production, providing proof of concept supporting the transition to general use of now common techniques (1985-2000).
Founded Interactive Guild, Inc, providing hosting, design and consulting services. Interactive Guild is a model virtual organization, with engineers, designers, and managers from across North America and the former Soviet states of Russia and Ukraine. We serve regional organizations in the public and private sectors.
