I am starting a new marketing business and would like your advice:

What is the best software for:

Contact Management and/or Customer Relationship Management

Accounting/taxes/payroll

Time management

Project management

What platform? Windows, Mac, Unix

Hosted or Locally installed? Web-based or client-side GUI -- what kind of interoperability do you need -- want a suite or best of breed?

What features are important to you?

Project Mangement: On windows, MS Project is popular on windows -- I've been using this http://www.basecamphq.com as a hosted project manangement solution -- free for one project.

CRM: Exchange/Outlook is an entry-level CRM if you have it already. If you need more, there's ACT. salesforce.com has a hosted solution.

Time tracking: heard good things about this: http://www.allnetic.com/working-time-tracker/

Accounting: Quickbooks

I'd be interested in what people suggest for all of these on MacOSX -- I'm a recent switcher.
